The performance of finger adhesive directly affects the running stability of automobile. At present, there are four common configurations of finger adhesive: polyisobutene (PIB), polymethacrylate (PMA), ethylene propylene copolymer (OCP), hydrostyrene diene copolymer (HSD).
Polyisobutene (PIB) is the first developed type of finger adhesive. It has excellent shear stability and thermal oxidation stability, but its low temperature performance is poor. Polymethacrylate (PMA) has good low temperature performance, thermal oxidation stability and viscosity, but its shear stability is poor, so it is more suitable to be used in some industrial oils. Ethylene propylene copolymer (OCP) has good viscosity, shear stability and thermal oxidation stability, which is the most widely used finger adhesive. Hydrostyrene diene copolymer (HSD) has excellent shear stability, viscosity and thermal stability. OCP type and HSD type are suitable as gasoline oil lubricating finger adhesives, but their low temperature performance is slightly worse, such as preparation of low temperature oil, need to add point reducing agent.
